Example showing the responses of 256 C2 units in a quantitative model of object recognition (Riesenhuber and Poggio, 1999) to one of the pictures in different scales and positions. Each point shows the response of one unit to one of the pictures (a monkey face in this case). The x-axis shows the responses to the standard scale and position (size=3.4 degrees, position=center of gaze) while the y-axis shows the responses to the other positions. The dashed diagonal line indicates y=x.
